What is in a basket?
A weekly basket contains, on average, 8 to 15 items, including in-season vegetables, herbs and small fruits, when available. All produce is produced organically on our farm. Early in the season we include more greens, herbs, as well as items such as rhubarb and chives. In the more bountiful months of the summer, such as August, you can expect a wider variety of vegetables, including tomatoes, carrots and beets, onions, broccoli, cabbage, peppers, corn and cucumbers. We grow approximately 40 different kinds of vegetables and herbs.
At times, Mother Nature does not cooperate, and so we do have crop failures, yet where one crop fails, another usually abounds. For example, a cold and damp summer will not be very productive for tomatoes and eggplant, but the broccoli and lettuce will be superb! We grow a variety of vegetables to ensure that we always have a good crop.
A typical July basket would contain the following:
carrots beets radishes salad greens
lettuce cucumbers green onions cherry tomatoes
spinach arugula tomatoes basil
